Local is Important

Sometimes law firms want to file the case where they have an office and where it is convenient for them. The case should be filed in the right court house. Often this is where the accident occurred, where you live or where the company is located. This is how we're different. We will meet with you anywhere you are located in the U.S. We will fly out to meet you face to face so we can build your case in person. If you have been in an accident with a commercial vehicle call us at 1-800-411-7411 for a free consultation to see if we can help you.

How the Process Works

When you contact us, we'll start off by asking you the basics. We'll find out who you are and where you live and we'll ask you some preliminary questions regarding the details of your accident. We'll also ask you some questions about any preferences you may have in a truck crash attorney, for example: would you prefer to work with an attorney who is extremely aggressive or someone who is more diplomatic or conservative in their approach. We'll match you with our truck accident lawyers who you will feel comfortable with.

Once we've collected all of this pertinent information, we will match your specifications with an attorney who will fit your needs. Our truck accident attorneys have many years of experience. We've built a network of experienced, successful attorneys, including many in your area and we will work hard to match you with the lawyer who will work best for you and with you. If we can't find the right fit with our truck injury lawyers, we'll work with you to find the right lawyer for you in your city. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service for our clients.

What to Do After a Truck Accident

It is very important that you maintain focus on your health, so even if you don’t believe that you were badly injured, seek medical attention. Truck accidents can cause injuries that don't become apparent right away. Making sure that you get examined by a physician should always be your first order of business.

When a truck accident happens, the trucking company will respond immediately in order to try to minimize their exposure and the amount of money that they have to pay out in damages. They will interview witnesses and ask people to sign waivers, including you.

They came to me after my wreck, like they say they would. I saw the doctor close 2 home that I wanted to see and they made sure all the bills were paid. I got money for my missed work and pain. No problems.

Testimonial 2

I heard about them on the radio, they said they would come to me and since I was in the hospital that was important. I had been hurt in a wreck and they took care of me. My bills got paid, I got money for all the time I missed at work, and enough to put away for my son's future. I hope I never need them again, but they were there when I did and we're really, really good.

Dealing with Insurance Companies

We know that after you’ve been in an accident with a truck, you have many questions and concerns. The costs of medical treatment can be very high, and it may be tempting to meet with the insurance representative from the trucking company.

This is especially when they are offering you what seems like a generous check, available to you immediately. The insurance company may ask you to sign a waiver in exchange for a check, or they may try to confuse your memory of exactly what happened in your accident.

It is common for the trucking company’s insurer to try to minimize blame on their client's driver, or even to try to convince you that the accident was your fault. Don't be fooled by their offer or their tactics. Though the insurance company may indicate that their concern is for your wellbeing, remember that it is their job to limit the amount of money that they have to pay you to the lowest amount possible.

They will follow a very specific set of procedures designed to try to relieve their client of liability or to reach a quick settlement that will relieve them and the trucking company of responsibility for any future medical expenses, lost wages or other damages that may arise down the road as a result of your injuries. Do not get caught in this trap.

Injuries from truck accidents can take years to resolve, and some do not become evident until weeks after the accident. Refer the insurance company to your attorney, and if you don’t have one yet tell them that you will have your attorney contact them once you have selected one.

Trucking Company Negligence

The number of trucking accidents taking place on America’s highways climb every year, and many result in significant injury and even death. There are many reasons why a truck accident may occur, and far too frequently the cause is determined to be trucking company negligence. The most frequently seen instances of negligence on the part of trucking companies include:

  • Drivers operating the vehicles without adequate training or experience
  • Trucks being overloaded or loaded improperly
  • Operating oversized trucks on narrow roads or roads where they are prohibited from traveling
  • Failure to see other vehicles as a result of a blind spot
  • Failure to obey traffic laws
  • Driving for too long without taking required rest breaks
  • Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Driving while distracted

In addition to negligence on the part of the driver, who has a duty to exercise proper care while operating his vehicle, trucking companies can also be negligent in the condition of the vehicle that was involved in the accident.

If the truck is being operated in a way other than that which the manufacturer intended or was not properly maintained and that played a part in your accident, that is also considered negligence.
